About

Welcome to my life !

A few hints on professional side

I’ve been working remotely in IT consulting since 2012, specializing in cybersecurity, transformation, architecture, cloud management and strategic planning. Before I ever got my first startup off the ground, I actually built three business cases that taught me how to break down big, messy problems into practical, real-world solutions. So if you ever need someone who speaks both “techie” and “business,” I’ve got that covered.

I work best when I can be remote, stay in touch with teammates online and skip the idea of an “office for office’s sake.” All this contributes to what I consider a “mental break”, somethings that permits creativity and a great work delivery. I love LoFi beats playing softly in the background, headphones on, and a podcast queued up, anything from tech deep-dives to history or travel stories will be a good companion.

Down to the personal

Close to me, most folks just call me Jon, Jona, Jonan, Johnny, Jony…. and I respect that. Names sometimes aren’t easier. I decided to settle down and I’m living in a tiny village up in northern Spain. I’m a pretty honest person, and I’ll always tell it like it is, even if being straightforward isn’t the easiest path.

As a fun fact, I’m a licensed ham radio operator (EA1HET). Ham radio is almost about tinkering with radios and waves propagation. And speaking of tinkering, I’m a total “maker” at heart. Give me a radio and/or a Raspberry Pi, a handful of sensors and a soldering iron and I’m in heaven, especially when it involves amateur radio, IoT projects or building gadgets that solve everyday problems. I’ve always been curious about electronics and being part of the maker community keeps me learning new tricks and, honestly, having a lot of fun.

When I’m not knee-deep in code or architecting a secure solution at work I’m probably out exploring, whether that’s hiking a 10 km trail, cycling through the hills, swimming laps or practicing some martial arts. I love literally all kinds of sports, but nothing beats a long walk in nature for clearing my head. And since I’m conscious about our planet, I try to make choices that respect the environment: from the way I set up my home office or the projects I contribute, to the routes I pick for my weekend adventures.

I get itchy if I stay in one place for too long, so travelling is a big part of my life. Whether I’m hopping on a plane or just planning my next road trip, I love seeing new places and meeting new people. So that’s a bit about me. Nice to meet you, and I hope we’ll find a chance to chat more soon!

Thanks for stopping by !!!
